A couple of nomads with a passion for travel
Graduation flew by in the blink of an eye. It seems to have come and gone so fast we can hardly picture it. Instead, all we can visualize is Morgan's poor mother left with all our belongings to pack up and move out of our houses before the leases were over. Then Kyle's mother, who simultaneously had to say congratulations for graduating and goodbye for possibly a year. Sorry moms...we love you.
Before we knew it, we were off. The grand adventure began with a flight to Tokyo with our four best friends ready to take on one Southeast Asian country at a time. Our trip as a group was six weeks long and it was filled with laugh till we cry moments, oversized backpacks never fitting the airline weight requirements, and an extreme lack of sleep. This was the trip of a lifetime.
Now, we are currently sitting in a Cafe in Bangkok, Thailand more than 8 months later thinking, "How the hell are we still here?"
The truth is, sometimes things don't go as expected, sometimes plans and realities crumble and all you are left with is to trust your gut. Never in a million years did we see ourselves, post college, MOVING to Asia. But, here we are.
That's what's sort of exciting about it. Sometimes life leads you to a path you did not expect for yourself. Instead of asking yourself why, take it and run with it. There is not a day that goes by that we don't miss our families and friends, but we know with all our heart that being here, in this time of our lives, is exactly what we're supposed to be doing.
There is no doubt that when you are thrown into a completely different environment it's going to be challenging. There will be stress and times of weakness involved, but every penny and ounce of time is worth it to be able to experience the lives of so many others around the world. You will never learn more than you do while traveling and we are lucky enough to have the perfect partner in crime to share all of these experiences with.
We once heard, traveling is the only thing you can invest in that truly makes you richer...well I'm not sure our bank accounts totally agree with that.
But hey, there’s nothing better than ADVENTURES LIKE THESE.
